What I like about my line of work is that Information Technology and Industrial Automation and Control Systems (and IT and IACS security) is always evolving. I am constantly confronted with new business processes, demands, requirements and risks that require translation into solutions. Almost like solving a puzzle. The more puzzles you complete, the more skilled you become.
Our line of work requires an incredible amount of both technical and organizational knowledge and skill. I love that – because it brings about diversity in the interaction with the client. Sometimes you meet the CFO, sometimes the firewall administrator.
In 2020 I decided to move further into IACS security and move to another employer. Unfortunately my former employer decided to remve my name from my blogposts and I don't know how long they will keep them available. I still think the insights are valuable, so I am reposting a few here.
